Pirates DFA Rowdy Tellez and Michael A. Taylor, Promote Prospects

The Pittsburgh Pirates have designated veterans Rowdy Tellez and Michael A. Taylor for assignment with six games left in the 2024 season. Tellez hit .243 with 13 home runs in 131 games, while Taylor struggled with a .193 average. In their place, the Pirates promoted infielder Liover Peguero and outfielder Joshua Palacios from Triple-A Indianapolis. Both prospects are expected to contribute as the Pirates look toward the future after being eliminated from playoff contention.
